In view of China's current investment in pollution prevention, Wang Jinnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that in recent years, China's environmental governance investment has accounted for about 1.7% to 2.0% of GDP. Nationwide, there is a large regional difference in this value, and some areas with lagging economic development are particularly weak. "To achieve the goal of fully building a well-to-do society by 2020, we need to further increase investment, especially in some areas where environmental pollution is heavy and there are many historical debts."
